I've been making a lot of work for a show that is opening in February. The show is a collaborative effort with two other local artists and the three of us each talk about our individual relationship with grief and loss. The show is called Catching Ourselves. This assemblage is called Memento Mori. It speaks to the idea of how individual grief responses can be...that there are no timelines or stages that you move through....that grief is its own energy that feels out of control, seemingly unending, and defies explanation. It is raw and pure emotion. It is outside the box of our everydays.
